Hmmm... What to write?
DD was supposed to come by and see the witchling today, but he blew her off. I am a little pissed off. More than a little.
Here I am, trying to be a good parent, trying to do what is right for my daughter... Letting him come over, letting him be in her life, and he can't even call to tell me that he won't be coming? She was expecting him. That isn't very fair.
Ugh...
Anyway...
Other than that little issue, we have had a pretty uneventful weekend.
Things are ok here. Although James' knee is not so good. He is in a lot of pain because he wasn't able to complete his physical therapy... We couldn't find a Rhode Island doctor who would accept the Maine insurance... Or something like that, but it is ok now because they transfered his case to RI. SO he has a new case worker that we will be seeing tomorrow. She is really nice. She isn't concerned with the length of time he has been on workmen's comp. She just wants him to get better. So he will start treatment again soon.
He also has a job interview on Thursday, with a headhunting company. His knee probably won't ever be the same, so we decided he would be better off finding a less physically demanding job. (He was working on his feet sixteen hours a day, running up and downstairs the whole time)
So my uncle suggested he contact a friend of his, who is looking for help. She seems interested in James after seeing his resume, so keep your fingers crossed!
Its scary, not knowing what is going to happen in the next few months, but I am trying to keep calm. We have money put away that we can live on, and we are still getting the checks every week from his claim... Which we should get for at least a few more weeks. We aren't lacking for anything right now, the bills are paid and we have plenty of stuff in the fridge and pantry. If we could stop eating out we would be doing even better!
Seriously, I think I cooked dinner maybe twice in the past week. And we went out to breakfast this morning!
We really need to stop doing that.
I hate to think how much money has been spent on eating out and takeout since we've moved in.
