Snow Day

Check out my website:

Its snowing out. I can barely see across the street, the snow is so thickly falling.

James and Jim went to the store earlier so we are all set for food. I'm sure the stores were a mess. I bet there wasn't any bread or milk left.

What is it about Rhode Islanders that makes them run to get bread and milk whenever there is an inch of snowfall?

Everyone is so frightened of another blizzard.

Like the one of '78.

Which was a bad one, I've heard. People died. So now for the last twenty years they've been waiting for another one. And everytime there is a snowflake in the sky, there is a run on milk and bread.

Why don't they buy tinned things? Wouldn't that last you longer if you were snowed in? Or candles and water? But no. We Rhode Islanders NEED to HAVE our milk and sandwiches I guess.

The world outside my window is silent. Its like we in our warm little kitchen are the only people around.

I can't hear the ever-present sound of cars racing past our living room window. I can't see anything outside but white.

Once every hour I can hear the rumble of the plow as it scrapes the snow and ice from the road, chugging along up the hill in a losing battle.

Right now we will have hot chocolate and play games of monopoly.

Like being a little kid home from school on a snow day.
