Sock Hop Gone Horribley Wrong

Hmmm... James has finally decided to write in his diary on a frequent basis, and he is writing beautiful, witchy, thoughtful entries... Sort of intimidating. I always start out with the idea of writing beautiful, thought provoking entries... but they always end up just the same old me.

Me complaining. Me whining. Me ranting about my day. That's all.

Sigh.

So I had a very weird dream last night (this morning actually).

I was stuck in some sort of fifties nightmare... I was actually at a peprally followed by a sock hop. And I was with this boy I knew in JR High/High School. Arthur.

Arthur was a... Friend? Sort of. We were very friendly in school but I never saw him out of it. He was kind of a nerd. One of the smartest kids in school... He was very tall, and pleasant enough looking. I sort of liked him a little in eighth grade, until I began my Eddie complex. (The boy I loved for nine years!) We used to compete for best grades in Biology class. I remember him as a really sweet guy. Soft spoken. I haven't seen Arthur but once or twice since I was in 11th grade.

But I digress.

In my dream, Arthur asked me to a dance at the lunch table, and the next thing I knew, the scene had shifted and there we were bebopping around the gym.

I was dressed in a poodle skirt a la Grease. It was odd. I was all "Oh Arthur..."

Just so you know I'm rolling my eyes now...

So then the pep rally started and I was sitting on the bleachers and these girls were behind me, making fun of me... Calling me a witch! I jumped up and ran away and then eveyone was calling me a witch and Arthur and I ran and ran. We came to these stairs that were supposed to lead to the carpark, and started down them. They just went down and down and down... People kept chasing us, screaming Witch! Witch! Witch! Leering at me, drooling, screaming, taunting.

And the stairs kept going down... we couldn't get away.

It was really creepy.
